Evaluation and influence of stress on job satisfaction of nurses in Mental Health Centers

Abstract:

Cíl: Cílem diplomové práce bylo zjistit stres a spokojenost u psychiatrických sester v komunitní péči a v rámci tohoto procesu zmapovat sociodemografické údaje. Výzkum byl proveden u sester pracujících v multidisciplinárních týmech v Centru duševního zdraví, eventuálně ambulancemi s rozšířenou působností na území České republiky. Metodika: Výzkumný soubor tvořilo 42 psychiatrických a všeobecných sester v multidisciplinárních týmech České republiky. Sběr dat byl proveden v období leden 2023 až březen 2023. Bylo osloveno vedení 30 Center duševního zdraví, a to s časovým odstupem, v průběhu 3 měsíců 3×. Centra duševního zdraví se v jednotlivých krajích České republiky zapojily, vyjádřily individuálně, s dodatkem, či se odmítly výzkumu účastnit. Dotazník byl zpracován pomocí platformy Survio.cz. Výzkum probíhal za sběru dat dvěma standardizovanými dotazníky a byl obohacen o sociodemografické údaje. Dotazníky - Škála vnímaného stresu (PSS-10) a Škála pracovní spokojenosti sester domácí péče, česká verze (HHNJS-CZ). Výsledky: Výzkumný soubor byl tvořen majoritně ženami v 92, 9 %. Psychiatrické sestry tvořily 71,5 %. Celý soubor sester pracoval v Centru duševního zdraví a v 47,6 % ? 3 roky. Z výsledků výzkumu vyplývá, že není signifikantní rozdíl mezi proměnnými - věkem, dosaženým vzděláním, délkou praxe a stresem. Sestry pociťovaly vnímaný stres ve 45,2 %. Neexistuje také vztah mezi doménami věk, délka praxe a spokojenost sester. V proměnné - vzdělání a pracovní spokojenost byl prokázán signifikantní vztah. Celkové skóre pracovní spokojenosti bylo nadprůměrné. Výsledky jednotlivých domén popisují plně spokojen ve 52,4 % a spokojen ve 40,5 %. Závěr: U zkoumané skupiny komunitních psychiatrických sester nebyl prokázán vliv stresu na pracovní spokojenost. Výsledky výzkumu jsou podstatným ukazatelem aktuálního stavu u sester v Centrech duševního zdraví. Data mohou dále sloužit managementu Center duševního zdraví, odborníkům dané oblasti i jednotlivým pracovníkům. Doporučujeme kontinuální podporu v oblastech s nadprůměrnými hodnotami výsledků a aktivně pracovat na posílení slabých stránek.

Abstract:

Objective: The objective of the work was to determine the stress and satisfaction of psychiatric nurses in community care and map socio-demographic data as part of this process. The research was conducted among nurses working in multidisciplinary teams in the Mental Health Center, or in outpatient clinics with extended scope in the territory of the Czech Republic. Methodology: The research group consisted of 42 psychiatric and general nurses in multidisciplinary teams of the Czech Republic. Data collection took place from January 2023 to March 2023. The management of 30 mental health centers was approached 3 times over a period of 3 months. Mental health centers in individual regions of the Czech Republic participated, expressed individually, with the addition, whether they refused to participate in the research. The questionnaire was processed using the Survio.cz platform. The research was conducted with data collection using two standardized questionnaires and was enriched with socio-demographic data. Questionnaires - Stress Perception Scale (PSS-10) and Nurses' Work Satisfaction Scale in Home Care, Czech version (HHNJS-CZ). Results: The majority of the research group consisted of women, 92,9 %. Psychiatric nurses made up 71,5 %. The entire set of nurses worked at the Mental Health Center, and 47,6 % of them had been working for ? 3 years. The research results show that there is no significant difference between the variables - age, education, length of experience and stress. Nurses experienced perceived stress in 45,2 %. There is also no relationship between the domains of age, length of practice and nurses' satisfaction. A significant relationship was demonstrated for the variable - education and job satisfaction. The overall job satisfaction score was above average. The results of the individual domains describe fully satisfied in 52,4 % and satisfied in 40,5 %. Conclusion: The influence of stress on job satisfaction was not proven in the studied group of community psychiatric nurses. The research results are a vital indicator of the current state of nurses in Mental Health Centers. The data can further serve the management of the Mental Health Center, experts in the field and individual workers. We recommend continuous support in areas with above-average results and active work to strengthen weak areas.
