Abstract:

Ve své práci jsem se analyzovat symbolickou strukturu Deklaraci OSN o právech původních obyvatel (UNDRIP). Prohlášení je dokumentována uzákonění partnerství mezi státy a domorodých obyvatel k výrobě pozornost na historii, identity a práv původních obyvatel v mezinárodní politice. To začalo být vypracován v roce 1985 a následně byl vyvinut v následujících letech, ale to bylo jen v roce 2007, která byla nakonec schválena většinou členských států Organizace spojených národů. Ve své práci, chci se podívat na to, jak se příběhy a kódy obsažené v UNDRIP dovoleno konvergující diskurs mezi státy a domorodého obyvatelstva, dvě jsou historicky protikladný. Z vnitřního pohledu, já chci zjistit, jestli struktura sám o UNDRIP (to je, obsahující kódy a příběhy) povolen příznivou reakci ze strany mezinárodního společenství členských států OSN. V širším pohledu, chci také prozkoumat, zda přijetí UNDRIP lze připsat na makro-kultury v 21. století, který ovlivnil státní politiky vůči domorodých národů. Co je to s mezinárodním politickém klimatu prvního desetiletí 21. století, který dovolil návrh, který byl odbyl za téměř dvě desetiletí, které mají být ohromně přednost v současné historii?

Abstract:

In my thesis I analyze the symbolic structure of the United Nations Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples (UNDRIP). The declaration is a documented enactment of the partnership between states and indigenous peoples to generate attention to the history, identity, and rights of indigenous peoples in international politics. It started to be drafted in 1985 and was subsequently developed in the following years but it was only in 2007 that it was finally approved by majority of the member-states of United Nations. In my thesis, I want to look at how the narratives and codes contained in the UNDRIP allowed a converging discourse between states and indigenous peoples—the two being historically antithetical. From an internal perspective, I want to see if the structure itself of the UNDRIP (that is the containing codes and narratives) allowed a favorable response from the international community of UN member-states. In a wider perspective, I also want to investigate if the acceptance of the UNDRIP can be attributed to a macro-culture in the 21st century which influenced state policies towards indigenous peoples. What is it with the international political climate of the first decade of the 21st century which allowed a draft which was snubbed for nearly two decades to be overwhelmingly favored in present history?
