Abstract:

Cílem této práce je porovnání simulátorů pro bezdrátové senzorové sítě (WSN). Práce obsahuje celkový přehled dostupných simulátorů. Simulátorům ns-2 a jeho „frameworku“ Mannasimu, OMNeT++ a jeho „frameworkům“ Castalia a MiXiM a dále simulátorům WSNet, TOSSIM a Cooja je věnována důkladná pozornost s důrazem na použití při simulacích WSN. Řešena je především podpora modelů bezdrátového kanálu a spotřeby elektrické energie a protokolů fyzické, linkové a síťové vrstvy. Dále jsou v práci představeny aplikace vyvinuté pro reálné senzorové uzly (Tmote Sky), které umožnily provedení experimentů s reálnou sítí. Během měření nastalo několik problémů a bylo potřeba počítat s faktory, které experimenty ovlivňují. Opatření, která byla provedena nebo s kterými je potřeba do budoucna počítat, jsou prezentována. Dále byly vyvinuty tři aplikace pro simulátory Castalia, MiXiM a TOSSIM umožňující porovnání s realitou. Jelikož výsledky z venkovních experimentů nejsou dostatečně spolehlivé, je práce se simulátory zaměřena na předvedení nutnosti správné konfigurace bezdrátového kanálu simulátorů. Vzhledem k tomu, že je simulace bezdrátového vysílání komplexní a komplikovanou problematikou, závěr práce je věnován principům a opatřením, které by měly být zváženy v budoucnu.

Abstract:

The goal of this thesis is to compare simulators for wireless sensor networks (WSN). First, a general overview of available simulators is given. Simulators ns-2 and its framework Mannasim, OMNeT++ and its frameworks Castalia and MiXiM, WSNet, TOSSIM and Cooja are reviewed thoroughly with emphasis on their suitability for WSN. Their supporting wireless channel models, energy consumption models, physical, MAC and network layer protocols is discussed. Applications developed for the real sensor nodes (Tmote Sky) which enabled to perform experiments are presented in the thesis. Several troubles and factors influencing measurements were encountered. An analysis of these problems led us to the idea of countermeasures which are outlined. Three applications were developed for Castalia, MiXiM and TOSSIM to compare the simulators with the reality. After analysing the results obtained from experiments we arrived at a conclusion that they are not reliable enough. Therefore the work with the simulators was aimed at demonstration how the performance was influenced by a correct configuration of the wireless channel. Simulating wireless channel is a rather complex and complicated process. The work performed enabled to specify principles and procedures which should be taken into account in the future work.
