Methods for estimating technical reserves of insurance companies

Abstract:

Tato diplomová práce je zaměřena na metody odhadu technických rezerv v oblasti pojišťovnictví. V práci je představena problematika modelování rezerv, zejména pak modelování rezervy na pojistná plnění v neživotním pojištění. Teoretický úvod nejprve seznámí s funkcí a tvorbou technických rezerv v pojišťovnictví. Po této části, následují kapitoly, ve kterých jsou představeny postupy odhadu technických rezerv pomocí jednotlivých metod, nejprve obecně, a následně jsou tyto metody prezentovány na reálných datech z praxe jedné nejmenované pojišťovny působící na českém pojistném trhu. Díky svému obsahu může tato práce sloužit k hlubšímu seznámení se s problematikou tvorby rezerv v pojišťovnictví, a to jak pro laickou, tak i odbornou veřejnost.

Abstract:

This diploma thesis is focused on methods for estimating technical reserves in the area of insurance. The thesis introduced to the issue of modeling reserves, especially modeling reserves for claims in non-life insurance. Theoretical introduction at first introduced with the function and creation of technical reserves in insurance. After this section follows chapters, which are presented procedures for estimating technical reserves using various methods, at first in general and after that these methods are presented on real data of practice unnamed insurance company operating on the Czech insurance market. Due to its content this thesis could serve a deeper explanation of the issue of creating reserves in insurance to both the laic and professional public.
