Abstract:
This thesis deals with the study of prokaryotic bacteria of the genus Borrelia burgdorferi, which are agents of multisystem infectious disease known as Lyme borreliosis. A tick is a worldwide recognized vector for the transmission of the bacteria to the host. Ixodes ricinus is the most typical species of a tick in Europe.
