Creation of a personal psychotherapeutic approach of Gestalt novice therapists

Abstract:

Práce se zabývá tématem spadajícím do oblasti profesního vývoje psychoterapeutů. Konkrétně se věnuje procesu utváření osobního terapeutického přístupu u začínajících Gestalt terapeutů. Přehled literatury související s tématem poskytuje základní rámec pro pochopení souvislostí tohoto procesu. Výzkumná část práce se řídí metodou zakotvené teorie. Výzkumný soubor tvoří sedm začínajících Gestalt terapeutů, se kterými byly provedeny polostrukturované rozhovory. Výsledná teorie je prezentována formou modelu znázorňující proces utváření vnitřního terapeutického nastavení, které lze považovat za vývojový předstupeň osobního terapeutického přístupu. Jednotlivé kategorie jsou dále podrobně popsány a uvedeny do vzájemných souvislostí. Výzkumná zjištění jsou diskutována s dosavadními empirickými poznatky o profesním vývoji psychoterapeuta a o procesu utváření osobního terapeutického přístupu.

Abstract:

The thesis deals with the topic within the field of professional development of psychotherapists. More precisely, it is devoted to the process of forming a personal therapeutic approach of novice therapists trained in Gestalt therapy. The review of the literature related to the topic provides a basic framework for understanding the context of this process. The research part follows the principles of grounded theory. The explored group of participants consists of seven novice therapists trained in Gestalt therapy who were taking part in semi-structured interviews. The consequent theory is presented in the form of a model depicting the process of creating internal therapeutic setting, which can be considered as a precursor to development of personal therapeutic approach. Each category is further described in detail and put into context. The research findings are discussed within existing empirical findings on professional development of a psychotherapist and on the process of formation of personal therapeutic approach.
