Parenteral drug administration

Abstract:

Diplomová práce je zaměřena na problematiku parenterálních léčiv v souvislosti s pochybeními, které mohou při přípravě a aplikaci nastat. Teoretická část práce popisuje lékové chyby, jejich rozdělení, ovlivňující faktory, hodnocení chyb a jejich prevenci. Dále je teorie zaměřena na jednotlivé cesty parenterální aplikace (intravenózní, subkutánní, intramuskulární) a postup i zásady aplikace léčiv. Empirická část sloužila ke zpracování dat, získaných kvantitativní výzkumnou metodou, pozorovacím archem. Zaměřily jsme se na profesní a situační faktory ovlivňující počet pochybení při přípravě a aplikaci. Zjistily jsme, že nejvyšší dosažené vzdělání, specializační vzdělání a typ balení léčiv neovlivňuje počet pochybení způsobené sestrami. Dále, že délka profesní praxe, cesta aplikace a její čas ovlivňuje počet pochybení. Z výzkumu vyplynulo, že nejvíce ovlivňuje počet pochybení délka profesní praxe, cesta aplikace a z hlediska času, zda se jedná o akutní indikaci a zda bylo léčivo aplikováno ráno, poledne nebo večer.

Abstract:

The diploma thesis is focused on the issue of parenteral drugs in connection with errors that may occur during preparation and administration. The theoretical part of the thesis describes medication errors, their distribution, influencing factors, evaluation of errors and their prevention. Furthermore, the theory is focused on the individual routes of parenteral administration (intravenous, subcutaneous, intramuscular) and the procedure and principles of drug administration. The empirical part was used to process the data obtained by the quantitative research method, the observation sheet. We focused on professional and situational factors influencing the number of doubts in preparation and administration. We found that the highest level of education, specialization and type of drug packaging did not affect the number of mistakes caused by nurses. Furthermore, the length of professional practice, the route of administration and its time affect the number of errors. The research showed that the number of errors is most affected by the length of professional practice, the route of administration and, in terms of time, whether it is an acute indication and whether the medication was administered in the morning, noon or evening.
