Portrayal of Tibetan Buddhism in Hollywood Movies
Abstract:
Tato práce se týká vztahu mezi Tibetským Buddhismem a Hollywoodským filmem. Na příkladu dvou Hollywoodských filmů - Little Buddha a Kundun - rozebírá, jak úspěšně či neúspěšně se tvůrcům těchto filmů podařilo zobrazit jak tibetský buddhismus, tak kulturu kterou se sebou toto náboženství nese.
Abstract:
Thesis deals with the relationship between Tibetan Buddhism and Hollywood movies. This relationship is depicted on the selected sample of two films - Little Buddha and Kundun - and the thesis analyses how successful or unsuccessful the makers of the films were in depicting of Tibetan Buddhism and Tibetan culture.
