Ethical-Philosophical Category of Catharsis in the Gnostic Tragedy Novels of Chinghiz Aytmatov

Abstract:

This diploma thesis deals with the prosaic work of the Kyrgyz-Russian writer Chinghiz Aytmatov. Formally, the work consists of three chapters. The first chapter is devoted to the author himself, his biography and an overview of his early works. This chapter forms the theoretical basis for the subsequent analysis of the selected works and related issues. The second chapter deals with the main theses of this work such as the aesthetics of magical realism and the thought-artistic basis of Aytmatov's novel creation. The given issues are presented through the selected works "The Day Lasts More Than a Hundred Years " and "The Place of the Skull" with reference to the works "The Master and the Margaret" and the old Kyrgyz-Kazakh epic "Manas". Catharsis and purification as the key terms of the work form the core of this chapter. The third chapter is devoted to the comparison of the works "Cassandra's Brand" by Ch. Aytmatov and "Sophie's Choice" by W. Styron. This thesis is an in-depth presentation of the selected works of the author with a focus on the ethical-philosophical category of catharsis.

Abstract:

Tato diplomová práce se zabývá prozaickou tvorbou kyrgyzsko-ruského spisovatele Čingize Ajtmatova. Formálně se daná práce skládá ze tří kapitol. První kapitola je věnována samotnému autorovi, jeho životopisu a přehledu prvotní tvorby. Tato kapitola vytváří teoretický podklad pro následnou analýzu vybraných děl a související problematiky. Druhá kapitola se zabývá hlavními tezemi práce, jako estetika magického realismu a myšlenkově-umělecký základ románové tvorby Ajtmatova. Daná problematika je představená prostřednictvím vybraných děl "Stanice Bouřná" a "Popraviště" s odkazem na díla "Mistr i Markétka" a starý kyrgyzsko-kazachský epos "Manas". Jádro této kapitoly tvoří katarze a očista jako klíčové termíny práce. Třetí kapitola je věnována porovnání děl "Tavro Kasandry" od Č. Ajtmatova a "Sofiina volba" od W. Styrona. Tato práce je hloubkovým představením vybrané tvorby autora se zaměřením na eticko-filozofickou kategorii katarze.
