Characters and gender stereotypes in literature for youth Subtitle: Interpretation of selected texts

Abstract:

Cílem bakalářské práce je analyzovat a rozebrat jednotlivá díla z literatury pro mládež z hlediska genderových rolí. Teoretická část se zaměřuje na vymezení základních definic a pojmů literatury pro mládež a pro dívky, také na postavy v literárním díle a dále pak na problematiku genderu a jeho roli v literatuře. Praktická část už konkrétně analyzuje vybranou literaturu, hodnotí díla a jejich postavy z hlediska genderových stereotypů a genderových posunů, a to na základě předtím vyhotovených tabulek. V závěru práce jsou všechny nalezené poznatky shrnuty a mezi sebou porovnány.

Abstract:

The aim of my thesis is to analyze the individual works of literature for youth from the point of view of gender roles. The theoretical part is focused on the describing of basic definitions and concepts of literature for youth, literature for girls and also describing characters in literary work, then is focused on gender issues and its role in the literature. The practical part specifically analyzes selected literature, evaluate literary works and their characters in terms of gender stereotypes and gender shifts, all based on before created tables. In conclusion of my thesis are all findings summarized and compared with each other.
