International legal status of the International Criminal Court

Abstract:

The aim of the thesis is to analyse the International Criminal Court, its position and its activities in the international environment, to research selected cases that the International Criminal Court has dealt with and is dealing with, to evaluate whether the judicial decisions of the International Criminal Court have an impact on the society. The first chapter is devoted to the International Criminal Court, the Rome Statute, the conduct of the judicial process, the structure and financing of the Court. The second chapter discusses the relevance of the International Criminal Court to the international environment. The third chapter discusses the Court's 12 cases in detail. And the final fourth chapter looks at two selected countries and whether the Court's decisions have had an impact on them as a society, and whether the Court's decisions have produced the desired results.

Abstract:

Cieľom záverečnej práce je analýza Medzinárodného trestného súdu, jeho postavenia a pôsobenia v medzinárodnom prostredí, rešerše vybraných prípadov, ktorými sa Medzinárodný trestný súd zaoberal a zaoberá, vyhodnotenie, či majú súdne rozhodnutia Medzinárodného trestného súdu dopad na danú spoločnosť. Prvá kapitola je venovaná Medzinárodnému trestnému súdu, Rímskemu štatútu, priebehu súdneho procesu, štruktúre a financovaniu Súdu. Druhá kapitola sa venuje významu Medzinárodného trestného súdu pre medzinárodné prostredie. V tretej kapitole je podrobne rozobraných 12 prípadov Súdu. A posledná štvrtá kapitola sa venuje vybraným dvom krajinám a či rozhodnutie Súdu malo na nich dopad ako na spoločnosť, či priniesli súdne rozhodnutia požadované výsledky.
