Abstract:

Tato práce podrobně popisuje svatbu a pohřeb – dva z rituálů v japonské náboženské tradici šintó. Zároveň se věnuje jejich sociální stránce a funkci v současné japonské společnosti. Pro uvedení do problematiky božstev v šintó se první kapitola zabývá kami, jejich charakterem a tím, jak jsou vnímána. Druhá kapitola popisuje svatební rituál v šintó. Začíná vysvětlením důvodu úpadku oblíbenosti tohoto stylu svateb v dnešním Japonsku a pokračuje krátkým popisem historie tohoto obřadu. Poskytuje tím stručný náhled do soudobé japonské společnosti a způsobu myšlení Japonců. Poté následuje podrobné vylíčení jeho průběhu a zmínění informací o nákladech na její provedení. Třetí kapitola se zabývá pohřby v této náboženské tradici. Opět začíná společenským kontextem, vysvětluje důvody vzniku pohřbů v šintó a nastiňuje chápání podstaty duše v tomto náboženství. Dále pokračuje zevrubným popisem průběhu tohoto rituálu, přibližuje role jednotlivých osob a uvádí, jaké jsou náklady na provedení tohoto obřadu v současném Japonsku. Tímto poskytuje čtenáři celkový náhled nejen na podobu těchto dvou rituálů, ale i na jejich historii a společenský kontext, do kterého jsou zasazeny.

Abstract:

This thesis describes in detail wedding and funeral – two rituals of Japan's Shinto religious tradition. It also deals with their social aspect and function in contemporary Japanese society. For introduction into the issue of Shinto deities, first chapter describes the kami, their character and how they are perceived. The second chapter describes wedding ritual in Shinto. It begins with the explanation of a reason why the popularity of this kind of wedding style declines in current Japan and continues with a brief description of the history of this ceremony. Through this, it provides a concise insight into contemporary Japanese society and into the Japanese way of thinking. Consequently, it deals with a detailed description of the process of ritual and the information on the costs of its implementation. The third chapter deals with funerals in this religious tradition. The chapter starts with the social context, explains the reasons for formation of the funerals in Shinto and outlines how the nature of a soul is perceived in this religion. The work continues with an overall description of the course of this ritual, explanation of the roles of individual people and shortly mentions the costs of carrying out this ceremony in contemporary Japan. This thesis provides the reader with an overview not only of the form of above mentioned rituals, but also their history and the social context that surrounds them.
