Verbal Assessment / Evaluation in a Montessori school

Abstract:

Diplomová práce se zabývá slovním hodnocením žáků v Montessori školách. Kromě vysvětlení podstaty Montessori pedagogiky se teoretická část věnuje také definování pojmů jako je alternativní vzdělávání nebo hodnocení. Hodnocení je v rámci teoretické části detailněji rozebíráno – jsou popisovány jak typy hodnocení, tak jeho formy, ale největší část kapitoly, definující hodnocení, je věnována již zmíněnému slovnímu hodnocení. Jádro práce tvoří kombinace kvalitativního a kvantitativního výzkumu, při níž jsou uplatněny následující metody – rozhovor a dotazník. Výzkum se zabývá pohledem na slovní hodnocení ze tří různých stran – ze strany učitelů, žáků a rodičů. Závěr práce poskytuje odpovědi na položené výzkumné otázky.

Abstract:

The thesis work deals with the verbal assessment / evaluation in Montessori schools. Except an explanation of Montessori pedagogy’s essence, the theoretical part pays attention to defining terms such as an alternative education or an evaluation. The evaluation is discussed within the theoretical part in details – types of evaluation and forms of evaluation are described there, but the biggest part of this chapter pays attention to the mentioned verbal assessment / evaluation. The core of the work is based on a combination of qualitative and quantitative research, during that the following methods are used – an interview and a questionnaire. The research deals with a view of verbal assessment / evaluation from three sides – from teachers’, pupils’ and parents’ side. The conclusion of this work provides answers to the asked research questions.
