Social intelligence, social competence, social skills and communication of seniors with various forms of asocial behavior

Abstract:

Tato diplomová práce je součástí výzkumného projektu, který je postaven na týmové práci tří studentek Psychologického ústavu Masarykovy univerzity v Brně. Společným cílem výzkumného projektu je analyzovat komponenty sociální inteligence a určit, které se podílejí na míře prosociálního a asociálního chování a to s přihlédnutím k vývojovému hledisku. Teoretická část výzkumu je rozdělena mezi tři diplomové práce, z níž každá přispívá k celkové problematice určitým dílem. Tato diplomová práce se v teoretické části zabývá problematikou empatie a jejím vlivu na prosociální a asociální chování. Dalším tématem je vymezení problematiky adaptability a stresu a popsání jednotlivých strategií zvládání zátěžových situací. Závěrečná kapitola je věnována vymezení seniorského období, jelikož výzkumný vzorek je tvořen jedinci tohoto věku. V empirické části se zabýváme jednotlivými složkami sociální inteligence a na základě analýzy sociální inteligence jsme sestavili testovou baterii. Konkrétně jsme se zaměřili na empatii, kterou zjišťuje dotazník IRI (Interpersonal reactivity index), sociální rezonanci, sociální pozici a sebekontrolu, které jsou obsaženy v Giessen testu. Sociální inteligence se také projevuje v adekvátních strategiích stresu, které měříme pomocí dotazníku SVF 78. Nedílnou součásti sociální inteligence je také tendence k altruismu měřená dotazníkem SIPO. Jako bariéry pro rozvoj sociální inteligence jsme označili úzkostnost (dotazník STAI-X2), impulzivitu a psychický nepokoj (dotazník SUPSO). Z osobnostních charakteristik se jako bariéry jeví poruchy osobnosti, zjišťované testem PSSI a neuroticismus dotazníkem NEO. Tento dotazník také postihuje osobnostní charakteristiky, jako jsou extroverze, otevřenost, přívětivost a svědomitost, které chápeme jako prediktory sociální inteligence. Výzkumná skupina je tvořena seniory ve výkonu trestu (lidé s asociálním chováním) a kontrolní skupina se skládá se seniorů, kteří se objektivně chovají prosociálně.

Abstract:

This thesis is a part of a research project based on the teamwork of three students of the Department of psychology at the Masaryk University. The common objectives of the research project is to analyze the components of social intelligence and to state, which out of these components participate in the rate of prosocial and asocial behavior with regard to the view of developmental psychology. The theoretical part is divided into three theses, each of them making a certain contribution to the general issue. In its theoretical part, this thesis deals with the problem of empathy and its influence on prosocial and asocial behavior. The following topic is the definition of the problem of adaptability, stress and description of single strategies of coping with stressful situations. The last chapter deals with the definition of senior age, since the research sample is formed by the individuals of this age. In the empirical part we deal with the single components of social intelligence and on the basis of social intelligence analysis we set the test battery. We specifically focused on empathy inquired by the IRI questionnaire (Interpersonal reactivity index), social resonance, social status and self control included in the Giessen test. Social intelligence is i.a. reflected in adequate stress strategies inquired by the questionnaire SVF 78. An integral part of social intelligence is the tendency towards altruism inquired by the questionnaire SIPO. As barriers for the social intelligence development we identified anxiety (questionnaire STAI-X2), impulsivity and psychical disorder (questionnaire SUPSO). Among personal characteristics personality disorder inquired by the test PSSI and neuroticism inquired by the questionnaire NEO appear to be the barriers.. This questionnaire concerns the personal characteristics such as extroversion, openness, affability and conscientiousness which we understand as predictors of social intelligence. The research group is formed by the seniors in prison (people with asocial behavior), the control group is formed by the seniors, whose behavior is objectively prosocial.
