ICT-enhanced educative intervention with persons with light mental disorder

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce zkoumá možnosti využití edukační intervence u osob s diagnostikovanou lehkou mentální retardací ve věku 18 - 35 let prostřednictvím kurzu práce s počítačem. Teoretická část charakterizuje mentální retardaci a zasazuje ji do kontextu speciální pedagogiky. Zároveň jsou v teoretické části popsána specifika vzdělávání dospělých osob a současně jsou vytyčeny aktuální trendy v této oblasti. Empirická část si klade za cíl zjistit, jak ovlivňuje účast osob s lehkou mentální retardací ve vzdělávacím kurzu práce s počítačem jejich počítačové dovednosti a zároveň jejich sociální a emocionální aspekty. Intervence byla realizována ve dvou na sobě nezávislých kurzech práce s počítačem celkově s 11 frekventanty. V rámci výzkumné studie byl zjišťován stav počítačových dovednost před začátkem kurzu a na jeho konci. Zjištěné výsledky ukazují jak na zlepšení počítačových dovedností, tak i na rozvoj sociálních a emocionálních aspektů osobnosti.

Abstract:

The bachelor's thesis examines the possibilities of using educational intervention in people diagnosed with mild mental retardation aged 18 - 35 years through a computer course. The theoretical part characterizes mental retardation and places it in the context of special pedagogy. At the same time, the theoretical part describes the specifics of adult education and also outlines current trends in this area. The empirical part aims to find out how the participation of people with mild mental retardation in a computer training course affects their computer skills and at the same time their social and emotional aspects. The intervention was implemented in two independent computer courses with a total of 11 participants. The research study assessed the state of computer skills before and at the end of the course. The results show both the improvement of computer skills and the development of social and emotional aspects of personality.
