The benefits of voluntary work with socially disadvantaged children for the professional development of the volunteer

Abstract:

Cílem této práce bylo zjistit, jaký je přínos dobrovolnictví se sociálně znevýhodněnými dětmi pro profesní rozvoj dobrovolníka. Práce je zaměřena na dobrovolníky sociálně aktivizačního programu SAP občanského sdružení Ratolest Brno. V teoretické části jsem vysvětlila, co je to dobrovolnictví, jaké jsou druhy dobrovolnictví a v čem je dobrovolnictví v sociálních službách specifické. Rovněž jsem popsala, v jaké situaci se nacházejí sociálně znevýhodněné děti, jaké pro ně existují sociální služby a dobrovolnické programy. Na závěr teoretické části jsem charakterizovala profesní kompetence podle Zuzany Havrdové. Ty ve svém výzkumu využívám ke zjišťování profesního rozvoje dobrovolníků. K zodpovězení výzkumné otázky jsem využila polostrukturované kvalitativní rozhovory s dobrovolníky programu SAP. Tyto rozhovory jsem zanalyzovala a pokusila se vymezit, v čem spatřují dobrovolnice programu SAP největší přínos dobrovolnictví.

Abstract:

The objective of this work was to find out what is the benefits of voluntary work with socially disadvantaged children for the professional development of the volunteer. The work is focused on the volunteers of the SAP social activation program which is the program of the civil society organisation Ratolest Brno. In the theoretical part I explained what volunteering is, what kinds of volunteering are there and what is volunteering in social services specific in. I also described the situation in which the disadvantaged children find themselves and what social services and volunteer programs are there for them. At the end of the theoretical part I characterized professional competences according to Zuzana Havrdová. I used them in my research to determine the professional development of the volunteers. To answer the research question I used semi-structured qualitative interwievs with the volunteers of the SAP program. I analyzed these interviews and tried to define what the volunteers of the SAP program find the biggest benefits in.
