Influence of teacher's progressivity, in terms of using ICT, on the pupil's understanding of mathematics.

Abstract:

Tato diplomová práce se zabývá vlivem inovativnosti učitele z hlediska Rogersovy teorie difúze inovací na matematické dovednosti žáků. Cílem práce je zjistit, zda je tento vliv na žáka podstatný. Mezi dílčí cíle práce řadíme analýzu rozdílů v úspěšnosti v didaktickém testu z matematiky mezi žáky napříč různým stupněm sumativního hodnocení z matematiky a z hlediska pohlaví a věku. Výzkum byl zaměřen na žáky 5. ročníků základních škol. Teoretická část práce je věnována informačním a komunikačním technologiím a jejich vlivu na výuku. Dále je zde vymezena Rogersova teorie difúze inovací, myšlení, matematická gramotnost a školní hodnocení. Praktická část práce je členěna na jednotlivé podkapitoly, které jsou věnovány metodologii výzkumu, charakteristice výzkumných nástrojů a výzkumnému vzorku. Dále jsou pomocí deskriptivní a induktivní analýzy ověřovány a vyhodnoceny stanovené hypotézy korespondující se stanovenými cíli této diplomové práce. Vliv inovativnosti učitele na úspěšnost žáků v didaktickém testu z matematiky se neprokázal. Ukázalo se, že sumativní hodnocení odpovídá úspěšnosti žáků v didaktickém testu z matematiky. Zároveň byl zaznamenán rozdíl v úspěšnosti v didaktickém testu napříč různými věkovými kategoriemi.

Abstract:

This diploma thesis deals with the influence of teachers' innovations on mathematical skills of pupils in terms of the Theory of diffusion of innovations by Rogers. The aim of the thesis is to find out whether this influence on the pupil is significant. The partial objectives of the thesis include the analysis of the differences in success in didactic mathematics test among pupils across different degrees of summative assessment from mathematics, gender and age. The research was focused on pupils of the 5th grade of elementary school. The theoretical part of the thesis is devoted to information and communication technologies and their influence on teaching. Furthermore, the Theory of diffusion of innovations by Rogers, thinking, mathematical literacy and school assessment are defined here. The practical part of the work is divided into individual subsections dealing with research methodology, characteristics of research tools and research sample. In addition, hypotheses corresponding to the objectives of this diploma thesis are verified and evaluated by descriptive and inductive analysis. The influence of the teacher's innovation on pupils' success in the didactic mathematics test has not been proven. It turned out that the summative assessment corresponds to the pupils' success in the didactic math test. Simultaneously the difference in success in the didactic test across different age categories was recorded.
