Lusatian culture in Czech Silesia

Abstract:

Práce se zabývá problematikou mladší a pozdní doby bronzové a starší doby železné v českém Slezsku, kdy bylo dané území obsazeno lidem kultury lužických popelnicových polí. V úvodu jsou představeny dějiny bádání lužické kultury v regionu a nastíněna kritika pramenů a literatury, která se k tématu vztahuje. V další části je představen vývoj osídlení v českém Slezsku v úseku celé doby bronzové až do závěru mladší doby železné s důrazem na období lužické kultury. Analyzována je struktura osídlení (sídliště, hradiska), problematika pohřebního ritu a depotů. Rekonstruována je rovněž sociální struktura lužické kultury, a to na podkladě nálezů z celého historického Slezska a z oblastí s ním bezprostředně sousedících. V další části je představena a analyzována keramika z hrobových celků a chronologicko typologickému rozboru je podrobena i kovová, kostěná i skleněná industrie. V závěru je proveden kompletní soupis všech lokalit s nálezy lužické kultury v regionu a proveden deskriptivní systém všech keramických tvarů pocházejících z hrobových celků lužické kultury v českém Slezsku.

Abstract:

This work deals with the issue of early and later Bronze Age and later Iron Age in the Czech Silesia, as it was the area inhabited by people of the Lusatian Urnfield culture. The history of the research of the Lusatian culture in the region is introduced at the beginning, together with the comment on literature and sources to this particular topic. The following part brings description of the development of the settlement in the Czech Silesia during the Bronze Age until the end of early Iron Age with the stress to the Lusatian culture period. The focus is on the analysis of the settlement structure (habitation sites, castles), the issue of burial rite and grave equipment. The social structure of Lusatian culture is also reconstructed on the basis of finds from the whole area of historic Silesia and surrounding regions. This is followed by an introduction and analysis of the pottery from the sepulchral complexes and the chronological and typological analysis of metal, bone and glass objects. A complete list of all localities with the finds of the Lusatian culture in the region is included by the end of the work, together with a descriptive system of all pottery shapes from the sepulchral complexes of the Lusatian culture in the Czech Silesia.
