The process of preparation of the state exam - case study at grammar school

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce se zabývá procesem přípravy státních maturit. Práce je tvořena dvěma částmi a to částí teoretickou a empirickou. Teoretická část je věnována hodnocení žáků ve škole, vyššímu sekundárnímu vzdělávání a také jeho obsahu a obecným cílům. Dále je popsán nový maturitní model a s ním související historie, důvody pro zavedení, nové hodnocení zkoušek, zkušební maturitní komise, vzdělávání pedagogů a také mediální diskuze vztažené k této problematice. V empirické části je nutné odpovědět na hlavní výzkumnou otázku, která zní: Jak probíhal proces přípravy státních maturit na vybraném všeobecném gymnáziu? Tato část pracuje s informacemi získanými během kvalitativního šetření, které bylo provedeno prostřednictvím polostrukturovaných rozhovorů s ředitelem školy a vybranými pedagogickými pracovníky. K analýze dat byla využita metoda otevřeného kódování a poté technika vyložení karet.

Abstract:

The bachelor’s thesis handles the process of preparing final state exams. It is devided into two parts; a theoretical part and an empirical part. The theoretical part is dedicated to the assessment of students, as well as the content and aim of the higher secondary education level. Further, the new model for the final state exam is introduced, alongside the historical ground and other reasons for its implementation. Also, the new assessment of state exams is explored and the institute of a test exam commitee is introduced alongside further education of teachers. The various medialized discussions of this question is also presented in the first part of the thesis. The empirical part is dedicated to the main research question: How was the process of preparation of new state exams carried out at a chosen high school without any specific area of expertise? This part utilizes the information gained via a qualitative analysis, which was carried out by the means of half-structured interviews with the principal of the school as well as chosen teachers. The method used in the data analysis was the method of open coded and than open cards technic.
