The System of German vowels and Analysis of the Textbooks „Německy s úsměvem – nově“ and „Delfin“ from the Phonetic Point of View

Abstract:

Bachelor thesis „The System of German vowels and Analysis of the Textbooks Německy s úsměvem – nově and Delfin from the Phonetic Point of View” deals with the analysis of German vowels and phonetic exercises of the selected textbooks. In the theoretical part I will explain the basic concepts which are related to phonetics and phonology. I will describe the system of Czech and German vowels and point out the vowels which are not found in Czech language. Further I will emphasize the vowels the pronunciation of which is difficult for Czech native speakers. A will also shortly explain German diphthongs, consonants and the suprasegmental aspects of German language. The practical part is devoted to the analysis of the Czech textbook „Německy s úsměvem nově” and the German textbook „Delfin” from the phonetic point of view. Based on the chosen theme I will analyse only those exercises which are used for practising pronunciation of German vowels, and I will present advantages and disadvantages of the selected books. The aim of thesis is to discover which of the two books is better for pronunciation practice of German vowels.

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce „Systém německých samohlásek a analýza učebnic Německy s úsměvem – nově a Delfin z fonetického hlediska“ se zabývá problematikou německých samohlásek a analýzou fonetických cvičení zvolených učebnic. V teoretické části vysvětluji základní pojmy, které souvisí s fonetikou a fonologií. Popisuji systém českých a německých samohlásek a upozorňuji na ty samohlásky, které se v českém jazyce nevyskytují. Dále zdůrazňuji ty samohlásky, jejichž výslovnost je pro české rodilé mluvčí obtížná. Krátce se také zmiňuji o německých dvojhláskách, souhláskách a suprasegmentální rovině jazyka. V praktické části pak analyzuji českou učebnici „Německy s úsměvem – nově“ a německou učebnici „Delfin“ z fonetického hlediska. Vzhledem ke zvolenému tématu analyzuji pouze ta cvičení, která slouží pro nácvik výslovnosti německých samohlásek a uvádím výhody a nevýhody obou učebnic. Cílem práce je zjistit, která z daných učebnic je pro nácvik výslovnosti německých samohlásek vhodnější.
