Residential and housing preferences of secondary school youth

Abstract:

Diplomová práce se zabývá tématem sídelních a bytových preferencí středoškolské mládeže. Práce se zaměřuje na studenty vybraných gymnázií z Karlovarského kraje a Prahy. Cílem práce je analyzovat jejich sídelní a bytové preference a identifikovat faktory, které jejich preference ovlivňují. Součástí práce je navrhnutí opatření, jak motivovat mladé lidi, aby neodcházeli z venkova do velkých měst a metropolitních regionů a jak motivovat absolventy středních a vysokých škol z Karlovarského kraje, aby kraj neopouštěli. Výsledky práce potvrzují nárůst orientace na ekonomické faktory, s čímž souvisí zvyšující preference velkoměst a Pražského regionu u mladých lidí. Jako nejdůležitější faktory při výběru bydlení se ukázaly životní náklady, bezpečí v místě bydliště, malebnost a upravenost, dobrá dopravní dostupnost a občanská vybavenost. Nejatraktivnějším typem bydlení je vlastnictví rodinného domu.

Abstract:

The Master's thesis deals with the topic of residential and housing preferences of secondary school youth. The thesis focuses on students of selected secondary schools from the Karlovy Vary Region and Prague. The aim of the thesis is to analyse their residential and housing preferences and to identify the factors that influence their preferences. Part of the work is to propose measures to motivate young people not to leave the countryside for big cities and metropolitan regions and to motivate graduates of secondary schools and universities from the Karlovy Vary Region not to leave the region. The results of the work confirm the increase in orientation towards economic factors, which is related to the increasing preference of young people for big cities and the Prague region. Cost of living, safety in the place of residence, picturesqueness and neatness, good transport accessibility and amenities emerged as the most important factors in the choice of housing. The most attractive type of housing is owning a family home.
