Analysis of time series of energy consumption from renewable sources in states of European union in the years 2004-2021

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce se zabývá analýzou časových řad podílů hrubé spotřeby energie z obnovitelných zdrojů na celkové hrubé spotřebě energie ve státech Evropské unie v letech 2004–2021. Data byly získána z veřejné databáze Eurostatu. Podíly spotřeby obnovitelné energie jsou počítány Eurostatem na základě metodiky SHARES, jejíž hlavní výhodou je vysoká míra harmonizace dat. Hlavním cílem práce je zhodnocení vývoje časových řad spotřeby energie z obnovitelných zdrojů ve zkoumaném období a provedení odhadu budoucího vývoje. Na základě provedené analýzy ohodnotíme úspěšnost energetické politiky evropských států v dané oblasti a pokusíme se odhadnout, jestli se Evropské Unii podaří dosáhnout cílů stanovených na rok 2030. Pro analýzu časových řad v této práci využijeme grafické znázornění a základní popisné charakteristiky. Pro modelování časových řad využijeme regresní přístup.

Abstract:

The bachelor's thesis studies the time series of the shares of gross energy consumption from renewable sources in the total gross energy consumption in the states of the European Union in the years 2004-2021. The data were obtained from the Eurostat public database. Shares of renewable energy consumption are calculated by Eurostat based on the SHARES methodology, the main advantage of which is a high degree of data harmonization. The main goal of the work is to evaluate the development of time series of energy consumption from renewable sources during the investigated period and make an estimate of future development. Based on the analysis we will evaluate the success of the energy policy of the European states in the given area and try to estimate whether the European Union will succeed in achieving the goals set for the year 2030. For the analysis of time series in this work, we will use graphic representation and basic descriptive characteristics. We will use a regression approach for time series modeling.
