The impacts of neoliberal politics on the situation of single mothers in shelters

Abstract:

Cílem práce je dozvědět se, s jakými nejčastějšími překážkami se setkávají matky samoživitelky v azylových domech při hledání a získávání samostatného bydlení v důsledku možných dopadů neoliberální politiky. Během výzkumu proběhly rozhovory s matkami samoživitelkami, zjištěná data byla analyzována pomocí metody zakotvené teorie. Ze zjištění vyplynulo, že mezi nejčastější překážky při hledání bydlení patří špatná finanční situace, s tou související zadlužení, špatné podmínky při hledání vhodného zaměstnání, vysoké kauce na byt (přímo související s vysokými nájmy), absence, plné kapacity, nebo špatné nastavení sytému sociálního bydlení a předsudky vůči matkám samoživitelkám.

Abstract:

The aim of this diploma thesis is to find out what are the most common obstacles for single mothers in finding their own independent housing and returning to normal life from living in shelters due to possible impacts of neoliberal politics. Single mothers were interviewed during the research and acquired data was analyzed using the grounded theory method. The results of the analysis was that most common obstacles are poor financial situation, indebtedness, bad job opportunities, expensive rents and sureties, absence, full capacities, or bad setting of social housing system, and prejudices against single mothers.
