Abstract:

Abstrakt: V této práci se zabýváme řešením optické aktivity krystalů. V minulosti byl k řešení optické aktivity krystalů úspěšně použit Chandrasekharův model dvou spřažených oscilátorů. Pomocí tohoto modelu byly odvozeny disperzní relace pro veličiny popisující optickou aktivitu ve směru optické osy a pro směr kolmý k optické ose. Ukazuje se však, že Chandrasekharovo řešení je založeno na chybě ve výpočtech. Na druhé straně, řešením modelu spřažených oscilátorů s využitím Condonových relací bylo potvrzeno, že tato chyba nemá vliv na charakter disperzních relací ve směru optické osy. Avšak pro směr kolmý k optické ose nemůžeme zatím podobné závěry učinit. Právě tato skutečnost je motivací předložené práce. V práci je řešen složitější model spřažených oscilátorů, který lépe koresponduje se skutečnou strukturou reálných krystalů, použitím Condonových relací ve směru kolmém k optické ose. Je zde dokázáno, že chyba v Chadrasekharových výpočtech nemění charakter disperzních relací jak pro směr optické osy, tak i pro směr kolmý k optické ose, vztahy se liší pouze konstantním faktorem. V práci je na příkladu atomárního krystalu teluru ukázána nesprávnost tvaru konstantního faktoru odvozeného Chandrasekharem, chyba je zde dokázána a dále diskutována

Abstract:

Abstract: Chandrasekhar method of two coupled oscillators was successfully used for the interpretation of the crystalline optical activity in the past. The optical activity dispersion relations were obtained in the direction of the optic axis and also in the direction perpendicular to the optic axis. But Chandrasekhar solution method is based on a mistake in the calculations. This mistake does not influence on the character of dispersion relations in the direction of optic axis, which has been proved by solution of the coupled oscillators model using the Condon relations, but the similar conclusion has not been yet known for the direction perpendicular to the optic axis. For that reason, the solution of more complicated model of coupled oscillators, which better corresponds to the structure of real crystals, using the Condon relations is presented also for the direction perpendicular to the optic axis. It is proved, that in spite of the mistake in calculations the Chandrasekhar conclusion holds that the character of the dispersion relation in the directions parallel and perpendicular to the optic axis is the same and differs only by constant multiplicative factor. But in this paper derived form of this factor differs from the Chandrasekhar factor. It is shown on example of atomic crystal of tellurium that the form of Chandrasekhar factor seems to be incorrect and the mistakes in its derivation are presented
