Conditional sentences – mistakes of Czech speakers

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce se zaměřuje na popsání chyb, kterých se nerodilí mluvčí dopouští při tvorbě podmínkových souvětí v anglickém jazyce. Teoretická část popisuje prezentaci podmínkových souvětí v lingvistických manuálech a řadě učebnic Time to Talk. Praktická část pak popisuje experiment zaměřený na správné používání podmínkových souvětí nerodilými mluvčími. Na základě výsledků této analýzy budou navrženy remediální aktivity.

Abstract:

This bachelor thesis is focused on the description of mistakes, which are often made by non-native speakers of English language, when they form conditional sentences. The theoretical part describes the presentation of conditional sentences in linguistic manuals and textbooks Time to Talk. The practical part consists of the experiment which is aimed at using correct forms of conditional sentences by non-native speakers. The data, gathered in this experiment, will be analyzed. Based on the results of the analysis proper remedial activities will be suggested.
