Abstract:
Cílem této práce je popsat a analyzovat podobu a povahu mořských pan ve vybraných dílech britské literatury od středověku až po současnost. Práce se zabývá vývojem vztahů mezi mořskými pannami a muži, jejich povahovými vlastnostmi a symbolikou v literatuře, a také jejich rolí při vzestupu feminismu.Abstract:
The aim of this thesis is to describe and analyse physical appearance and characteristics of mermaids in chosen British literary works from the Middle Ages to the present. The thesis focuses on the development of romantic relationships between mermaids and men, their nature and symbolism in literature, and their role in the rise of feminism.
