Fraudulent acts in cyberspace targeting seniors and possible preventive measures

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce se zabývá problematikou podvodných jednání v kyberprostoru cílených na seniory a možnostmi prevence. Cílem bakalářské práce je informovat o rizicích v kyberprostoru cílených na seniory a popis možností prevence těchto rizik. V teoretické části jsou popsány změny, které nastávají ve stáří. V další části je popsáno rizikové chování seniorů a také vybrané druhy podvodných jednání, které jsou často cíleny na seniory. V poslední části teorie je popsána prevence rizik v kyberprostoru, kde je popsána prevence na veřejné úrovni s podporou státu, dále pak volný čas seniorů jako prevence, a nakonec jsou uvedeny příklady dobré praxe. V praktické části je použita metoda kvalitativního výzkumu v podobě diskurzivní analýzy diskusí pod články a příspěvky, které se obsahově týkají podvodných jednání zmíněných v teoretické části. Cílem výzkumu je popsat s jakými typy reakcí se setkávají oběti podvodných jednání.

Abstract:

The bachelor thesis deals with the issue of fraudulent actions in cyberspace targeting the seniors and possible preventive measures. The aim of the bachelor thesis is to inform about the risks in cyberspace targeting the elderly people and to describe the possibilities of prevention of these risks. The theoretical part describes the changes that occur in old age. In the next part, the risky behaviour of seniors is described as well as selected types of fraudulent actions that often target seniors. In the last part of the theory, risk prevention in cyberspace is described, where prevention at the public level with state support is described, then seniors' leisure as prevention, and finally examples of good practice are given. In the practical part, a qualitative research method is used in the form of a discursive analysis of discussions under articles and posts that are related to the content of fraudulent acts mentioned in the theoretical part. The aim of the research is to describe what types of reactions victims of fraudulent acts encounter.
