Tato práce se detailně zabývá trestem smrti. První kapitola tuto problematiku upravuje obecně. Nalezneme zde vysvětlení toho, co je trest jeho účel a funkci. Druhá kapitola popisuje historický vývoj trestu smrti, dále pak vnitrostátní, mezinárodní a evropskou úpravu. Třetí kapitola rozebírá jednotlivé způsoby vykonání trestu smrti.
