Host preference of bryophagous Pyraloidea (Lepidoptera)

Abstract:

Tato práce je zaměřená na bryofágní (mechožravé) zástupce nadčeledi Pyraloidea vyskytující se v oblasti Střední Evropy. V rámci rešerše bylo zjištěno, že na tomto území se vykytuje 49 bryofágních druhů motýlů z nadčeledi Pyraloidea. V podčeledi Galleriinae je to 27 druhů, v podčeledi Scopariinae 21 druhů a podčeleď Crambinae je zastoupena jedním druhem. Z toho 28 druhů se vyskytuje na území České republiky. Praktická část práce se zaměřila na území Moravskoslezského kraje a částečně Zlínského kraje (některé části CHKO Beskydy), kde proběhlo odebrání vzorků z 16 čtverců (kvadrátů) s mechem na každé z 28 lokalit. Na lokalitě byla měřena aktuální vlhkost půdy a mechu, aktuální teplota půdy a osvětlení lokality. Mech, který byl odebraný z měřených kvadrátů, jsme následně využili k dalším měřením a experimentům v laboratorních podmínkách. V laboratoři jsme pak zjišťovali morfotyp mechu a počet jedinců z lokality. Ukázalo se, že housenky preferují kompaktní mechy. Bylo zjištěno, že motýli preferují pleukrokarpní mech Cirriphyllum piliferum a starý i nový mech Cerratodon purpureus. Oproti tomu méně preferují akrokarpní mechy Dicranum scoparium, Racomitrium canescens a pleurokarpní mech Hypnum cupressiforme. V neposlední řadě byly zkoumány možnosti odchování motýlů v laboratorních podmínkách pro budoucí možnost experimentálního testování na výběr potravy. Na čtyřech lokalitách z 28 nebyli nalezeni žádní jedinci, na zbylých 24 lokalitách byly nálezy v počtu 1 až 19 jedinců. Celkově jsme odchytili 136 jedinců v larválním stádiu, ze kterých se nám podařilo odchovat do dospělosti 55 jedinců.

Abstract:

This bachelor thesis is focused on the bryophagous representatives of the Pyraloidea superfamily in central Europe. The literary research found that 49 moths of the Pyraloidea superfamily have occurrence in the selected area. In the subfamily Galleriinae there are 27 species, in the subfamily Scopariinae 21 species and 1 species represents the subfamily Crambinae. Of this, 28 species occur in the Czech Republic. The practical part of the research was carried out in the Moravian-Silesian Region and partially in the Zlín Region (some parts of the Beskydy Protected Landscape Area) where samples were taken from 16 squares with moss on each of the 28 localities. The actual soil moisture of mosses, actual soil temperature and irradiation were measured at each site. The moss, which was taken from the measured quadrates, was subsequently used for further measurements and experiments in laboratory conditions. At the lab, we distinguished the morphotype of the moss and the number of individuals from the site. It has been found that caterpillars prefer especially compact mosses. It was found that butterflies prefer pleukrokarpic moss Cirriphyllum piliferum and old and new acrocarpic moss Cerratodon purpureus. In contrast, they prefer less acrocarpic mosses Dicranum scoparium, Racomitrium canescens, pleurocarpic moss Hypnum cupressiforme. Last but not least , the possibilities of rearing of moths in laboratory conditions were investigated to enable future experimental food selection testing. There were no individuals found on four sites out of 28, on remaining 24 localities, there were findings ranging from one to 19 individuals. A total of 136 individuals were captured in larval stage from which we managed to rear to an adult stage 55 individuals.
