The analysis of library services use and spaces in the Research Library in Hradec Králové

Abstract:

Cílem této diplomové práce je na základě průzkumu zjistit, jak studenti vysokých škol využívají Studijní a vědeckou knihovnu v Hradci Králové, a jak jsou s jejími službami a prostory spokojeni. Práce se skládá ze dvou hlavních částí: teoretické a praktické. Část teoretická nejprve podá stručné informace o českých veřejných knihovnách a jejich službách, vysvětlí měření spokojenosti uživatelů podle Metodického pokynu Ministerstva kultury a představí techniky sběru dat, které se v knihovnách pro tyto účely používají nejčastěji. Dále bude charakterizována Studijní a vědecká knihovna v Hradci Králové a její služby a budou uvedeny některé již dříve proběhlé průzkumy mezi zdejšími uživateli. Praktická část se zaměří na samotný průzkum mezi studenty, od přípravy až po závěrečné vyhodnocení.

Abstract:

The aim of this diploma thesis is to find out, based on a survey, how university students use the Study and Research Library in Hradec Králové, and how satisfied they are with its services and premises. The work consists of two main parts: theoretical and practical. The theoretical part first provides brief information about Czech public libraries and their services, explains the measurement of user satisfaction according to the Methodological Instruction of the Ministry of Culture and introduces data collection techniques that are most often used in libraries for these purposes. Furthermore, the Study and Scientific Library in Hradec Králové and its services will be characterized, and some previous surveys among local users will be presented. The practical part will focus on the survey among students, from preparation to the final evaluation.
