Concept of the Selected Thematic Maps of Health Conditions and Health Care in CR: analysis and interpretation of the contemporary state of the art.

Abstract:

Tato práce je příspěvkem do problematiky map a zdraví. Obsahuje stručný přehled historie zdravotnických map, vyčerpávající seznam existujících zdrojů map a dat a návrh klasifikace map. Na základě těchto zdrojů a dosavadních poznatků z kartografie i jiných oborů je sestaven přehled požadavků specifických skupin uživatelů map a návrh praktických postupů pro vyhovění těmto požadavkům. Praktickým výstupem práce je návrh tematické mapy očkování pro území Afriky a návrh znakové sady pro mapu registru zdravotnických zařízení.

Abstract:

This work is a contribution to issues of maps and health. It contains brief outline of history of medical maps, extensive list of map and data sources and proposes the classification of these maps. On the basis of these sources and recent knowledge of cartography and other fields of science, the summary of specific map users´ needs was build, and also the practical application was suggested. There are two practical results of the work: design of vaccination map for Africa and design of symbol set for a map of medical facilities.
