Avalanche formations of the Krkonoše

Abstract:

Práce zkoumá lavinové útvary v Krkonoších s cílem identifikovat lavinové nebezpečí v horách. První část práce se věnuje genezi, spouštěcím mechanismům a faktorům lavin a bezpečnosti v lavinových svazích. Druhá část popisuje terénní výzkum zaměřený na dokumentaci lavinových útvarů. Terénní výzkum v nízkých teplotách a s malou sněhovou pokrývkou ověřil stav existujících lavinových útvarů. Výsledky vedly k vytvoření brožury hodnotící význam lavinových útvarů při identifikaci lavinového nebezpečí. Práce zdůrazňuje vliv změn počasí, potřebu kombinace terénních informací s predikcemi a diskutuje o přínosu identifikace lavinových útvarů k prevenci rizik.

Abstract:

The thesis examines avalanche formations in the Krkonoše Mountains with the aim of identifying avalanche hazards in the mountains. The first part of the thesis deals with the genesis, triggering mechanisms and factors of avalanches and safety in avalanche slopes. The second part describes field research aimed at documenting avalanche formations. Field research in low temperatures and with little snow cover verified the condition of existing avalanche formations. The results led to the development of a brochure evaluating the importance of avalanche formations in identifying avalanche hazards. The paper highlights the influence of weather changes, the need to combine field information with predictions and discusses the contribution of avalanche formation identification to risk prevention.
