The cooperation between universities and employers and its influence over the students' career development

Abstract:

Magisterská diplomová práce pojednává o tématu kariérového rozvoje vysokoškolských studentů v souvislosti s jejich využíváním nabídky aktivit postavených na spolupráci vysoké školy a potenciálních zaměstnavatelů. V práci se zaměřuji na kariérový rozvoj studentů v období přechodu na pracovní trh. Nároky tohoto období jsou spatřovány především v organizační socializaci a partnerství vysokých škol s podnikovou sférou je nahlíženo jako jeden z možných způsobů, jak studenty na toto období připravit. Část věnovaná metodologii a výsledkům kvantitativního výzkumu se pak snaží tento vztah mezi participací studentů na zmíněných nabídkách a jejich organizační socializací vysvětlit na vzorku studentů Masarykovy univerzity, Mendelovy univerzity a Vysokého učení technického.

Abstract:

The diploma thesis deals with a topic of the university students’ career development in terms of using an offer which is based on the cooperation between their university and potential employers. The thesis is focused on the career development of university students in the phase of transition into the labour market. This transition might be challenging mostly because of the requirements of organizational socialization. The partnership built between universities and business sphere is viewed as one of the possible ways to make the students being prepared for the transition. The other two parts of the thesis describe the methodology of the research and present the results. In these parts, the correlation between the students’ participation on the offers based on the partnership and their organizational socialization is explained on the sample of students from Masaryk University, Mendel University and Brno University of Technology.
