Abstract:

Tato bakalářská práce se zabývá využitím písní ve vyučování a jejich podílem na motivaci žáků a studentů k učení anglického jazyka. Snaží se zjistit, jak často a do jaké míry učitelé druhého stupně základní školy a učitelé středních škol využívají hudbu a s jakým záměrem písně nebo hudební videa žákům pouští (zda jí využívají pouze ke zvýšení míry motivace svých žáků, nebo se skrze ni pokouší učit jednotlivé jazykové dovednosti, novou slovní zásobu, gramatiku nebo kulturní aspekty anglicky mluvících zemí). Záměrem práce je také inspirovat učitele k častějšímu a cílenějšímu využívání hudby ve výuce, poukázat na výhody a vzdělávací přínos hudby, na její vliv na motivaci žáků a na jejich chuť studovat dále anglický jazyk. Teoretická část práce se zaobírá pojmem motivace, její definicí, rozdělením a využitím ve výuce. Dále se zabývá písněmi a hudbou, jejich možným použitím ve výuce a jejich vzdělávacím přínosem. Nakonec tato část obsahuje kapitolu věnující se specifikům zkoumané skupiny – adolescentům. Praktická část je věnována výzkumu, jehož cílem bylo zjistit, jak často a k jakým účelům využívají učitelé písní a aktivit s nimi spojených a jak tyto aktivity působí na žáky (zda je motivují k dalšímu studiu, zda mají vliv na zábavnost výuky). Dalším záměrem výzkumu bylo dokázat, že využití písní ve výuce je žádoucí jak pro výuku anglického jazyka, tak i pro zvýšení motivovanosti studentů a pro zvýšení míry zábavnosti hodin.

Abstract:

This bachelor thesis deals with the use of songs in teaching and their contribution to the motivation of pupils and students to learn English. It attempts to find out how often and to what extent lower-secondary and upper-secondary school teachers use music and with what intention they play songs or music videos to the pupils (whether they use it only to increase their students' motivation or if they try to teach certain language skills, new vocabulary, grammar or cultural aspects of English-speaking countries through it). The aim of the work is also to inspire teachers to the more frequent and more purposeful use of music in teaching, to point out the advantages and educational benefits of music, its influence on students' motivation, and their desire to continue to study English. The theoretical part of the thesis deals with the concept of motivation, its definition, division, and its use in teaching. Furthermore, it deals with songs and music, their possible use in teaching, and their educational benefits. Finally, this part contains a chapter devoted to the specifics of the study group - adolescents. The practical part is devoted to research, the aim of which was to find out how often and for what purposes teachers use songs and activities related to them and how these activities affect students (whether they motivate them for further studies, whether they affect the enjoyability of the lessons). Another aim of the research was to prove that the use of songs in teaching is desirable both for teaching the English language and for increasing the learners’ motivation and the enjoyability of the lessons.
