Abstract:

Použitelná bezpečnost v kontextu autentizace je stále se vyvíjející obor. Uživatelé musí stále činit rozhodnutí, která se týkají IT bezpečnosti, proto je zásadní, aby bezpečnostní techniky a postupy byly použitelné. Bezpečnost je proces – nové bezpečnostní systémy a doporučení stále přicházejí, takže je nutné je stále přizpůsobovat potřebám, dovednostem a porozumění uživatelů. Chceme vylepšit použitelnost moderních autentizačních metod. Nesoustředíme se pouze na koncové uživatele v produktivním věku, ale neopomínáme ani generaci starších uživatelů či IT profesionálů. Na základě dat získaných skrze realizované uživatelské studie a šetření formulujeme doporučení pro vývojáře autentizačních systémů a autory IT bezpečnostních politik vedoucí k lepší použitelnosti. Naše návrhy by měly vest ke zlepšení bezpečnosti, protože uživatelé budou mít méně příležitostí k chybování. Tato práce obsahuje souhrn našich aktuálních vědomostí uživatelského vnímání použitelnosti a bezpečnosti ohledně autentizace. Dále jsou v práci formulovány také výzkumné cíle společně s našimi dosaženými výsledky.

Abstract:

Usable security regarding user authentication is a still-evolving field. Since users have to make IT security-related decisions, it is crucial to have usable security techniques and approaches. Security is a process – new security systems and recommendations are still coming, so it is necessary to adapt them for users’ needs, skills, and understanding. We want to improve modern authentication methods towards better usability. We focus not only on the end-users of productive age but also on an elderly generation of end-users on one hand, and IT professionals on the other hand. We formulate recommendations for authentication system developers and IT security policy writers towards better usability, based on the data gained via conducted user studies and surveys. Our suggestions should lead to improved security because there will be less space for user errors. This thesis contains a summary of our current knowledge about authentication perception in usability and security by users. Then our research aims are formulated, together with our achieved results.
