Possibilities for application of data from non-professional weather stations as a source for rainfall-runoff modelling in Slovak Republic

Abstract:

Tato bakalářská práce je na téma možnosti využití dat z amatérských meteorologických stanic pro potřeby hydrologického modelování ve Slovenské republice. Práce se dělí na dvě části, literární rešerši a praktickou část. Zatímco obsah literární části je zaměřen na obor meteorologie a klimatologie, praktická část si klade dva cíle. Prvním cílem bylo vyhledání amatérských meteorologických stanic ve Slovenské republice. Druhým cílem bylo získání dat od amatérských meteorologických pozorovatelů. Vyhledávání stanic probíhalo pomocí internetového vyhledávače www.google.sk, kde byly zadávány klíčová slova související s amatérskými meteorologickými stanicemi. Z celkového neurčitého počtu bylo vyhledáno 49 amatérských meteorologických stanic. Z nalezených webových stránek jednotlivých amatérských meteorologických stanic byly vyhledány kontakty na 22 pozorovatelů, kterým byl následně odeslán dotazník. Zpátečních odpovědí bylo získáno 9, přičemž pouze 2 respondenti souhlasili s poskytnutím vlastních dat.

Abstract:

This bachelor thesis deals with the opportunities of using the amateurish weather stations for needs of hydrological modelling in Slovakia. The thesis is devided into two parts, the theoretical and practical one. While the content of the theoretical part is focused on the field of meteorology and climatology, the practical part reaches two aims. The first one is to search to search amateurish weather stations in Slovakia. The other one is to gain data from amateurish observers. The searching for stations was based on Slovak Google Search. The key words regarding the amateurish weather stations were put into the Internet. Although a total number of the stations is unknown, I searched 49 amateurish weather stations. From websites of the individual amateurish weather stations 22 contacts were taken. These 22 amateurish meteorologists were given a questionaire. 9 amateurish observers fill the questionaire and send it back but only 2 respondents agreed on providing data.
