The comparative analysis of anglicisms in the specific discourse: the case of French and Czech fishing magazines

Abstract:

Our thesis is dedicated to the penetration of borrowings from English into Czech and French magazines about fishing. The theoretical part defines the concept of English loanwords in terms of terminology and neology; we are interested in formation of English loanwords and their adaptabilities in Czech and French, as well as the historical context of the influence of English on these languages. We focus also on a theoretical grasp of the discourse, in which English loanwords are located. The basis of our research is data obtained from the corpus made up of three issues of French magazine about fishing La pêche et les poissons and the Czech magazine Rybářství published in the April, May and June 2013.The results are processed in the program Excel2003 and in textometric programmes Lexico3, Tropes and TextObserver. The objective of our research is to determine the level of inclusion of English loanwords into French and Czech on the basis of their morphological and semantic features, and according to frequency of occurrence in everyday or advertising discourse of the magazines about fishing.

Abstract:

V naší diplomové práci se věnujeme pronikání výpůjček z angličtiny do českých a francouzských časopisech o rybářství. V teoretické části vymezujeme pojetí anglicismů z hlediska terminologie a neologie, zajímáme se o formování anglicismů a jejich adaptabilitu v češtině a francouzštině, rovněž i o historické souvislosti vlivu angličtiny na tyto jazyky. Zaměřujeme se taktéž na teoretické uchopení diskurzu, ve kterém se anglicismy nachází. Východiskem pro náš výzkum jsou data získaná z korpusu vytvořeného ze třech čísel francouzského časopisu o rybářství La pêche et les poissons a českého Rybářství publikovaných v dubnu, květnu a červnu roku 2013. Výsledky jsou zpracovány v programu Excel2003 a v textometrických programech Lexico3, Tropes a TextObserver. Cílem našeho výzkumu je zjistit úroveň začleňování anglicismů do francouzštiny a češtiny na základě jejich morfologických i sémantických vlastností a dle frekvence výskytu v běžném či reklamním diskurzu časopisů o rybářství.
