A Set of Stories for A Report Magazine

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce sleduje žánr story a jeho využití v konkrétním tištěném médiu, kterým je profesní častopis Ministerstva obrany České republiky A report. Cílem bakalářské práce je vytvořit soubor story v takové kvalitě, aby byly publikovatelné v cílovém médiu, magazínu A report. Tedy tak, aby naplnily požadavky a vyhověly pravidlům pro psaní story v A reportu a čtenáře tohoto časopisu zaujaly. Na základě teoretického ukotvení a pravidel odpovídajících cílovému médiu kriticky reflektovat zvládnutí dodržení nastaveného teoretického rámce. V metodologické části autorka popisuje metody, které si zvolila ke zjišťování informací. Teoretická část práce je rozčleněna do tří kapitol, v kterých jsou vymezeny základní pojmy. První kapitola se zabývá problematikou public relations. Ve druhé kapitole autorka definuje žánr story a představuje základní teorie a koncepty tohoto žánru. Třetí kapitola je věnována problematice stereotypů v souvislosti s vojáky. Cílem teoretické části je stručně, ale komplexně popsat danou problematiku. Dále je rozpracována charakteristika cílového média a popsán žánr story tak, jak se s tímto pojmem pracuje v cílovém médiu. Autorka srovnává poznatky získané rešerší odborné literatury s praxí při psaní tohoto žánru v cílovém médiu. Součástí tvůrčích výstupů této práce je kritická reflexe pěti autorských textů založená na zhodnocení naplnění teoretických poznatků o problematice žánru.

Abstract:

This Bachelor paper is focused on a story literary genre and its application in a particular printed medium; namely a military magazine of the Ministry of Defence of the Czech Republic entitled „ A Report“. This paper is to put together a set of stories reaching such a quality so that all individual texts would; fulfill theoretical requirements of the story genre, meet rules of this genre as defined for story writing as well as publishing in this target medium, it being a means of public relations of the Armed Forces of the Czech Republic. Based on its theoretical background and rules of a target medium, it is expected to thoroughly demonstrate the ability to stay within the defined theoretical framework. The author devotes the methodological part of this thesis to the description of methods she chose to gather information. On the other hand, its theoretical part is divided into three chapters all of which specify basic terms. Unlike the first chapter dealing with public relations, in the second chapter the author determines the story literary genre and presents not only its underlying theories but also concepts. The third chapter is dedicated to the subject of stereotypes regarding soldiers. The theoretical part is to describe the given subject matter not only briefly but also comprehensively. Furthermore, this paper elaborates on the description of a target medium and outlines the story literary genre the way it is used in a target medium. Gained by doing a research into reference books, the author runs a comparative analysis of her findings and the way of writing of this literary genre in a target medium. However, it is critical reflection of five authorial texts based on theoretical findings fulfillment evaluation of this genre´s subject matter which constitutes integral part of creative outputs of this study.
