Gender-biased Language in TIME Magazine

Abstract:
Tato bakalářská práce se zabývá problémem genderové předpojatosti v týdeníku Time. Popisuje a studuje genderově příznakové výrazy a zároveň pojednává o následcích používání sexistického jazyka. Cílem práce je studie výskytu genderově zabarvených jevů v různých časových obdobích. Také navrhuje různé varianty neutrálního jazyka.
Abstract:
The thesis deals with gender-biased language in Time magazine. It describes and examines gender-marked expressions and discusses the effects of using sexist language. Its aim is to investigate the occurrence of gender-biased phrases in different periods of time. It also proposes various options of neutral language.
