Anotace:

Tato diplomová práce se zabývá aspekty pozitivní a negativní diskriminace nebělošských postav v dětských knihách Davida Walliamse. První část se zaměřuje na pozadí autorova života, Walliamsovy vlastní rasové kontroverze, dětský pohled na literaturu a definice pozitivní a negativní diskriminace. Druhá část se zaměřuje na konkrétní postavy z jeho románů pro děti a analýzu diskriminace vůči nim.

Abstract:

This Master’s thesis deals with aspects of positive and negative discrimination of non-white characters in the children’s works of David Walliams. The first part concentrates on the author’s background, Walliams’ own race-related controversies, children’s perspective of literature and definitions of positive and negative discrimination. The second part focuses on specific characters in his children’s novels and an analysis of the discrimination shown towards them.
