Biogeomorphological mapping of naturally recovered reach of the Bečva River in the vicinity of Hustopeče nad Bečvou

Abstract:

This diploma thesis concerns changes in the biodiversity in the river Bečva in the vicinity of Hustopeče nad Bečvou village. From the perspective of dynamics, amount of transported sediment and speed of changes in the channel, Bečva represents an unique river in the Czech Republic. This has been proven by the floods in 1997 and 2010, which have both significantly transformed artifically regulated channel, enabling development of nature-like channel involving gravel bars, flood channels and erosion banks. Huge advantage from aspect of research is an endeavour to leave the renaturalised land to the natural development. The first part of the thesis is based on the papers by various authors regarding the river landscape, predominantly of gravel-bearing and braiding form, which are similar in character to Bečva and the investigated area close to it. From this perspective, foreign case studies dominate. A separate chapter is devoted to the research done on Bečva until present. The second part is dedicated to the research itself, which consists of a geodetical mapping, sediment analysis, occurrence and composition of the plant species. It also synthetizes knowledge from own measurements and different studies and tries to explain the existing relationships and links between the biotic and abiotic environment.

Abstract:

V této diplomové práci se věnuji změnám geobiodiverzity na řece Bečvě v blízkosti obce Hustopeče nad Bečvou. V České republice se z hlediska dynamiky, množství přemístěných sedimentů a rychlosti směn v korytě jedná o jedinečný vodní tok. To dokázali i povodně z roku 1997 a 2010, které výrazně pozměnili regulované koryto, co umožnilo vývoj přírodě blízkého koryta se štěrkovými lavicemi, povodňovými koryty a břehovými nátržemi. Obrovskou výhodou z hlediska výzkumu je snaha ponechat renaturalizované území přirozenému vývoji. První část práce vychází z prácí různých autorů věnujících se říční krajině, a to především štěrkonosnými a divočícími vodními toky, charakterem podobným řece Bečvě a zkoumanému území na ni. Z tohle pohledu převažují především zahraniční případové studie. Dosavadní výzkum na Bečvě je shrnutý v samostatné kapitole. Druhá část je zaměřená na vlastní výzkum, který spočívá v geodetickém mapování, rozborech sedimentů, výskyte a rozložení rostlinných druhů. Syntetizuje poznatky z vlastních měření a různých studií a snaží se vysvětlit existující vztahy a vazby mezi abiotickým a biotickým prostředím.
