Cílem diplomové práce je zkoumat a porovnat tři příslovce barely, hardly a scarcely. I když jsou tato příslovce obecně považována za synonyma, navzájem se od sebe liší. Abstract:
The aim of the thesis is to examine and compare three adverbs barely, hardly, and scarcely. Though these adverbs are generally considered synonyms, they differ from each other. They are analysed in terms of their meaning, occurrence across various registers, and words they occur with. The thesis is divided into theoretical and practical part.
