The rehabilitative intervention of a multi-traumatized patient with a fibula and humerus fracture: a clinical case

Abstract:

Shoulder it's a very wide moving range joint that allows many movements in the upper limb, is made of a cavity in which rotates a sferic portion of a long bone, the humerus. This joint is strenghtened by a ligament capsule and moved by a group of muscles, the rotator cuff (Buckley 2015). Plenty are traumas and fractures involving this anatomic portion. These fractures have both traumatic and patological causes. (Kokkalis 2017) Fibula is a bone in the leg, that supports the tibial bone. They form the two ankles malleolus. In this paper the patient had a motorcycle accident where distal fibular bone and gleno-humeral joint had fractured. The shoulder needed a total reverse arthroplasty, and the fibula was treated with an ostheosyntesis The rehabilitative intervention done lately allowed a recovery in terms of muscle strenght and motility, pain reduction and activities of daily life regain

Abstract:

La spalla ? un'articolazione molto mobile che permette numerosi movimenti dell'arto superiore. ? composta da una cavit?, detta glena, in cui ruota la testa di un osso lungo, l'omero. Rinforzata da una capsula legamentosa, questa articolazione ? mossa da un gruppo di muscoli definiti cuffia dei rotatori. (Buckley 2015). Numerose sono le tipologie di fratture e traumi che interessano questa porzione anatomica: possono avere un'origine traumatica o patologica (Kokkalis 2017). Il perone ? l'osso della gamba che ha la funzione di sostenere la tibia; si articola con essa e va a formare distalemnte il mortaio tibio peroneale. Nel nostro elaborato affronteremo il caso di una a paziente che ha subito un incidente motociclistico: questo ha comportato la frattura del perone distale e della spalla. Quest'ultima ha richiesto la sostituzione con protesi inversa di spalla mentre per il perone ? stata necessaria un'osteosintesi. L'intervento riabilitativo conseguentemente eseguito ha permesso il recupero della forza e della mobilit? di gamba e spalla, la riduzione del dolore e il recupero delle attivit? quotidiane.
