Comparison of Several Types of Forest Restocking on Clearcuts: Sowing, Planting, and Natural regeneration

Abstract:

Práce posuzuje tři různé způsoby zalesňování holiny, která vznikla po větrné kalamitě v roce 2010 na polesí Habrůvka, ŠLP Křtiny. Každý druh zalesnění – síje, umělá obnovu a sukcese – byl založen ve dvou provedeních, a to velká a malá plocha. Na základě měření na výzkumných plochách a jejich následném zhodnocení lze srovnat jednotlivé obnovní postupy v mortalitě a odrůstání, dále je posouzena nákladovost jednotlivých variant na zajištění porostu a ekonomická rentabilita. Zjistilo se, že ačkoliv náklady na zajištění u umělé výsadby jsou řádově výš než u ostatních měřených postupů, je umělá výsadba dlouhodobě ekonomicky výhodnější.

Abstract:

The thesis assesses three different ways of restocking a clearcut originating from a windblown in 2010 in forest district Habrůvka, ŠLP Křtiny. Each type of restocking, i.e. sowing, planting, and natural regeneration – was established in two sets, one large and the other small size. The measurement of the sites that have been carried out annually, evaluation was done comparing the restocking methods, with a focus on mortality and growth. Additionally, a cost of each restocking method was considered, and the economic profitability was estimated for each type of restocking. The results show that costs on restocking by planting are much higher than of the other types of restocking, but in a long run planting is more profitable.
