Awareness society about the syndrome of an abused, neglected and abused child in Opava

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce se zabývá obeznámeností veřejnosti, zejména obyvatel Opavska, s problematikou syndromu CAN. V rámci teoretických východisek je termín definován, blíže jsou popsány formy syndromu CAN. Pozornost je věnována také postavení dítěte v rodině a ve společnosti, od čehož se odvíjí potřeba děti chránit. Uvedeny jsou možnosti prevence i řešení případů syndromu CAN a prezentována jsou také aktuální data mapující výskyt případů syndromu CAN v České republice. Součástí práce je i prezentace výsledků vlastního výzkumu, který byl koncipován jako kvantitativní. Výzkumný soubor tvořilo 116 respondentů z Opavska. Cílem výzkumu bylo zjistit, jaká je informovanost veřejnosti na Opavsku o problematice CAN. Formulována byla hlavní hypotéza a pět hypotéz pracovních. V návaznosti na zjištěnou nedostatečnou obeznámenost respondentů s problematikou CAN je v závěru práce pojednáno o potřebě systematické osvěty v této oblasti, jejíž součástí by měla být i medializace případů syndromu CAN, ovšem způsobem, který nevede k sekundární viktimizaci obětí syndromu CAN.

Abstract:

The bachelor thesis deals with the acquaintance of the public, especially the inhabitants of Opavsko, with the problem of Child Abuse and Neglect Syndrome. In the framework of the theoretical background, the term is defined, and the forms of CAN syndrome are described in more detail. Attention is also paid to the position of the child in the family and society, from which the need to protect children is being developed. The possibilities of prevention and resolution of cases of CAN syndrome are presented, and current data mapping the occurrence of CAN syndromes in the Czech Republic are also presented. Part of the thesis is also presentation of the results of own research, which was conceived as quantitative. The research sample consisted of 116 respondents from Opavsko. The aim of the research was to find out how the public in Opavsko is aware of the problem of CAN syndrome. The main hypotheses and five working hypotheses were formulated. As a result of the lack of acquaintance of the respondents with the CAN issue, the conclusion of the thesis deals with the need for systematic education of the public in this field, which should also include media coverage of cases of CAN syndrome, but in a way that does not lead to secondary victimization of CAN victims.
