Ring as a sociocultural phenomenon

Abstract:

Tato bakalářská práce se zaměřuje na vývoj prstenu od pravěku, přes starověk, středověk, novověk až do současnosti. jsou zde uvedeny materiály. které sloužily a slouží k výrobě šperků a také kameny zdobící tyto šperky a jejich schopnosti, které jim lidé během staletí přisuzovali. Dále jsou zde zmíněny různé druhy prstenů. Prsten posloužil i jako námět mnoha uměleckých děl, čemuž se věnuje samostatná kapitola. Součástí práce jsou i rozhovory se čtyřmi současnými českými šperkaři, které mají přiblížit jejich práci, jaké materiály využívají, čím se inspirují a jak vnímají samotný prsten.

Abstract:

This bachelor thesis aims to the development of the ring from prehistory, through antiquity, the Middle Ages, the modern age to the present. It lists the materials that had been used and are used to make jewelry, as well as the stones that adorn this jewelry and the abilities that people have attributed to them over the centuries. There are also mentioned various types of rings. Ring was also used as the subject of many artworks. This is deccribed in the separate chapter. The thesis also includes inteviews with four contemporary Czech jewellrs to show their work, what materials they use, what inspires them and how they percieve the ring itself.
