Energy drinks from the nutritional therapist`s point of view

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce se zaměřuje na energetické nápoje z pohledu jejich složení a účinku na lidský organismus s přihlédnutím převážně na děti do 15 let. Začátek teoretické práce se věnuje obecné definici energetických nápojů, historii jejich vzniku a také postavení na trhu. Následně jsou zde rozebrány nejčastější složky energetických nápojů běžně prodávaných na trhu a tyto složky jsou popsány i co do účinků na lidský organismus. V praktické části bylo hlavním cílem zjistit věk, ve kterém děti s pitím energetických nápojů začínají a věk, kdy je jejich konzumace nejvyšší. Dále bylo cílem zjistit četnost konzumace energetických nápojů, jejich výběr a důvody jejich pití. Jsou zde zpracovány aktuální výsledky dotazníkového šetření, kterého se zúčastnilo 259 žáků 3. - 9. ročníků základních škol. Výsledky jsou zpracovány statisticky pomocí tabulek a grafů. Na základě výsledků dotazníkového šetření byly zhotoveny dva edukační materiály pro primární a sekundární prevenci.

Abstract:

The bachelor thesis focuses on energy drinks from the point of view of their composition and effect on the human body, with an emphasis on children under 15 years of age. The beginning of the theoretical work is devoted to the general definition of energy drinks, the history of their origin and also their position on the market. Subsequently, the most common ingredients of energy drinks commonly sold on the market are discussed and their effects on the human body are described. In the practical part, the main objective was to determine the age at which children start drinking energy drinks and the age at which their consumption is the highest. Furthermore, the aim was to determine the frequency of energy drink consumption, the choice of energy drinks and the reasons for drinking them. The actual results of a questionnaire survey of 259 pupils in primary schools in grades 3 to 9 are presented. The results are presented statistically using tables and graphs. Based on the results of the questionnaire survey, two educational materials for primary and secondary prevention were produced.
