Occurrence of subterranean and wood-destroying insect species on the sycamore maple (Acer pseudoplatanus L.) and norway maple (Acer platanoides L.) in the territory of the forest section of the Jelenec School Forestry enterprise Masaryk's Forest Křtiny

Abstract:

Cílem této diplomové práce bylo zhodnocení současného stavu javoru klenu (Acer pseudoplatanus L.) a javoru mléče (Acer platanoides L.) s ohledem na výskyt podkorního a dřevokazného hmyzu na území Školního lesního podniku Masarykův les Křtiny, na lesnickém úseku Jelenec. Po více než 2 roky trvajícím studiu literatury a práce s pokusnými javorovými lapáky bylo díky laboratornímu pokusu zjištěno, jaké druhy hmyzu se vyskytují na javorech v podmínkách ŠLP. V laboratorních podmínkách bylo odchyceno celkem 61 kusů hmyzu čtrnácti různých druhů ze zájmové skupiny Coleoptera, náležejících do 10 čeledí. Z těchto druhů byl nejzajímavějším Leiopus nebulosus, který byl nejpočetnější, a druh Trypodendron domesticum, který ve větší míře obsazoval oddenek, a mohl by tak výrazně škodit na již pokácené hmotě. Z výsledků této práce plyne, že výskyt škůdců, tedy podkorního a dřevokazného hmyzu, není limitujícím omezením pro zvýšení podílu javorů jako hospodářsky cenných dřevin v lesních porostech na vhodných stanovištích na území ČR.

Abstract:

This diploma thesis aimed to evaluate the current state of sycamore maple (Acer pseudoplatanus L.) and norway maple (Acer platanoides L.), concerning the occurrence of subterranean and wood-destroying insects in the school forest enterprise Masaryk's Forest Křtiny, in section Jelenec. After more than two years of study the literature and work with experimental maple larks, it has been discovered thanks to a laboratory experiment, which species of insects occur on maples in the conditions of ŠLP. A total of 61 insects of fourteen different species from the Coleoptera group, belonging to 10 families, were captured under laboratory conditions. The most interesting of these species was Leiopus nebulosus, which was the most numerous. The results of this work show that the occurrence of pests, therefore subterranean and wood-destroying insects, is not a limiting restriction for increasing the share of maples as economically valuable woody plants in forest stands in suitable habitats in the Czech Republic.
