Light Bulb-Replacement Based on High-Power LEDs in Railway Light Signals

Abstract:

Kvalifikační práce se zabývá problematikou náhrady žárovky v železničních světel-ých návěstidlech výkonovými svítivými diodami. Prvá kapitola práce čtenáře stručným způsobem seznamuje s problematikou současných železničních návěstidel a používaných světelných zdrojů. Následující dvojice kapitol nabízí shrnutí základních fyzikálních principů svítivých diod (LED) doplněné stručným přehledem vybraných výkonových svítivých diod od světových výrobců. Ve čtvrté kapitole byla popsána syntéza náhrady dvouvláknové návěstní žárovky s výkonovými svítivými diodami Luxeon Rebel, která je použita jako světelný zdroj pro generování "pozitivního signálu" v přejezdových výstražnících. Pátá kapitola je věnována stručnému rozboru požadavků, které se týkají použití výkonových svítivých diod, jejichž čipy jsou tvořeny ze sloučenin GaN/InGaN a AlInGaP, v aplikaci spojené s náhradou návěstní žárovky v dalších typech železničních světelných návěstidel. Dále je zde popsáno možné řešení náhrady jednovláknové žárovky výkonovými svítivými diodami Luxeon Rebel v návěstních svítilnách "bílé" barvy. Poslední kapitola práce se zabývá teoretickým návrhem bezpečného elektronického zapojení umožňujícího detekci degradace výkonové svítivé diody na základě vyhodnocení V-A charakteristik prvku.

Abstract:

This thesis deals with a design of the light bulb-replacement based on high-power light emitting diodes in railway light signals. A very brief consideration on railway signals and commonly used light sources was done in the first chapter of the thesis. The basic physical principles of light emitting diodes (LEDs) and a short list of selected high-power light emitting diodes produced by world-leading manufacturers were described in the following two chapters. The fourth chapter of this work deals with a synthesis of a device based on Luxeon Rebel high-power light emitting diodes which could replace the incandescent light bulb used for generation of the "positive signal" in the level crossings. The fifth chapter briefly describes the requirements on high-power light emitting diodes based on GaN/InGaN and AlInGaP which can be used to replace the incandescent light bulb in some other types of railway light signals. A solution of the single-filament light bulb-replacement for railway light signals of the white color, which was based on Luxeon Rebel high-power light emitting diodes, was found and described in this chapter. A theoretical design of a fail-safe electronic circuit which is able to detect a light emitting diode-degradation based on changes in the I-V characteristic of the LED was described in the last chapter of this thesis.
