Versatile sport helmet

Abstract:

The aim of this work is to design versatile helmet for various sports using modern materials and design procedures. Regarding this, thesis contains a chapter focused on analysis of current market state, helmet cosntructions, safety requirements, potentiall users and their demands. The next part concerning materilals is focused on carbon bre reinforced plastics, expanded polystyrene and D3O. It deals with theoretical analytical and numerical modeling of these materials and pressure and impact experiments needed for identi cation of material parameters by optimization algorithm. Final chapter is focused on the design of the versatile helmet re ecting selected materials and requirements obtained in the analysis in the rts chapter. The last part deals with nite element modeling of the standartized impact tests of the nal helmet design and it's evaluation. Results showed that versatile helmet can generally be designed by proposed methods to t the safety requirements whereas the minimum of expensive experiments is needed during the design process.

Abstract:

Cílem této práce je navrhnout univerzální přilbu pro více různých sportů s použitím moderních materiálů a návrhových postupů. Byla provedena analýza současného stavu trhu se sportovními přilbami, konstrukcí přileb, bezpečnostních nároků, potenciálních uživatelů a jejich požadavků. Část práce týkající se materiálů použitých k návrhu přilby je zaměřena na vláknové uhlíkové kompozity, expandovaný polystyren a D3O. Zabývá se teoretickými analytickými a numerickými modely těchto materiálů a tlakových a rázových experimentů, jež byly zapotřebí pro identifikaci materiálových parametrů pro modely pomocí optimalizačního algoritmu. Závěrečná kapitola je zaměřena na návrh mutifunkční přilby reflektující vybrané materiály a požadavky vzešlé z analýzy uživatelů. Poslední část je zaměřena na modelování normalizovaných zkušebních testů metodou konečných prvků a vyhodnocením výsledků. Ty ukázaly, že multifunkční přilba může být rámcově navržena použitou metodou tak, aby splnila bezpečnostní požadavky přičemž je zapotřebí minimum drahých experimentů v rámci návrhového procesu.
